Week of April 20-24, 2015

 

Field Trip Permission Slip and T-shirts:  Please be sure to sign and return the field trip permission slip and send in a white t-shirt NO LATER THAN Friday! If you need a copy of the permission slip, please click on the link:  

 

MAP Testing:  We will be taking the Math MAP test on Monday at 1:15 and Reading will be on Tuesday at 10:00.

 

Math:  The students are learning to measure using inches and centimeters.  We are working on personal references to help them estimate lengths.  Students will also be solving word problems involving measurement.

 

Writing/Social Studies:  This week the students will start working on their Influential Person presentations.  They will be creating their presentations in Google Docs and sharing it with the class when they are completed.  I am hoping to have these done by the end of next week!  I am excited to see what the students come up with!  I will post some of the paragraphs and portraits that they completed last week!  

 

Reading:  We are finishing up our literature study of The Trumpet of the Swan by: E.B. White.  It has been great to watch the students grow in their written responses over this study.
